SwingX - Alive and Kicking

Abstract

The open source SwingX project is a field laboratory to eXplore evolutionary paths for Swing. Following its mantra "as simple as possible - but not more so" (A. Einstein), lets eXperience the "X" as in eXtended functionality, eXtreme consistency and eXtra widgets.

This session is an in-depth tour along highlights of recent development, f.i. in-built support for WYSIWYM (What-You-See-Is-What-You-Match), animated cell renderer decorations, enhanced calendar and login widgets and a preview of a functional (now really!) TreeTable.

Speaker

Jeanette Winzenburg - Experimental physicist in my former life, Swing-addict and -critic since its birth, early adaptor in my scientific data-analysis/ visualization projects, self-proclaimed ruler of SwingEmpire.de offering services as pathfinder around desktop stumbling blocks, I'm currently back to the labs, in the role of senior developer-architect in Sun's open source SwingLabs/SwingX project
