Griffon: Re-imaging Desktop Java Technology
Abstract
This BOF will provide both a high-level and functional view of the new Groovy application framework, Griffon. Borrowing much of its convention over configuration structure from Grails. Griffon provides a means to quickly target desktop, webstart, and applets. Attendees should have basic knowledge of the Groovy language.
Speaker
James Williams is a Sun Certified Programmer specializing in desktop Java and rich Groovy clients. He was a successful participant in the 2007 Google Summer of Code where he worked to bring easy access to SwingLabs components to the Groovy language. In addition to SwingXBuilder, he has authored several plugins for Grails and is a co-creator of Griffon, a desktop application framework for Groovy.
